As a leader in your community or faith-based organisation, you are often the person others approach when facing difficulties. Because of this, your ability to offer a safe, informed, and respectful response is essential.
The Train, Engage, Connect, Support (TECS) project was created to address this responsibility. Delivered by SSI in partnership with the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA), this initiative provides specialised tools for leaders to help those experiencing family, domestic, and sexual violence (FDSV).
Why This Initiative Matters
The goal of this initiative is to equip leaders with the knowledge to manage sensitive situations effectively. By participating in this training, you will:
- Learn to recognise the signs: Develop the ability to identify when community members are experiencing FDSV.
- Respond with care: Gain practical skills to offer compassion and handle sensitive situations with respect and safety.
- Navigate support services: Understand where to find and how to connect people with specialist support services.
- Foster open dialogue: Learn the skills required to lead open, honest conversations within your community.
