Reviving the Spirit of Active Citizenship with ASWF

It was a privilege to be together with so many engaged community members at the recent event, thanks to the wonderful coordination of the Australian Syriac Women Forum. Our very own Joseph Youhana from Tawasul Foundation led a dialogue on our identity as a diaspora.

This event encourages to empower your community with the skills to take a stand, discussing SSI’s free, flexible e-learning course specifically for faith and community leaders to better recognise and respond to FDSV.

The room was filled with warm, open conversation, reinforcing the power of dialogue and shared learning. Sessions like this are practical pathways to strengthen community capacity and revive the spirit of active citizenship.

We believe true harmony is fostered through these moments, where we empower one another to be confident and connected members of the broader Australian society.

About SSI’s Course: Across nine bite-sized lessons, you’ll dive into the dynamics of violence, how to spot high-risk signs, and the importance of self-care. With a mix of videos and a dedicated Conversation Guide, it’s a practical resource for those on the front lines of community support.

By working together, we bridge gaps and build a stronger, more inclusive future.

Let’s keep the dialogue going!
