SSI TECS Online Workshop for Multicultural Communities

We hosted an impactful online workshop dedicated to empowering multicultural leaders in Victoria. This session focused on the Train, Engage, Connect, Support (TECS) program, a free initiative designed to help community leaders safely support those experiencing family, domestic, and sexual violence (FDSV)

The workshop brought together 12 attendees from diverse backgrounds including Russian, Ukrainian, and Chilean communities currently living in Victoria. This diversity highlighted the universal importance of building safer environments for all multicultural families.

As part of the SSI FDSV TECS Project, delivered in partnership with FECCA, our goal was to facilitate the registration and importance of the course.

What is covered in the course

Participants engaged with core learning objectives from the SSI curriculum, including:

• Recognising the signs of family, domestic, and sexual violence.
• Responding with compassion, respect, and safety.
• Connecting leaders to specialist support services.
• Developing skills to lead open and supportive conversations within their specific cultural groups.

Why This Matters

This training is a vital step in strengthening local leadership and fostering positive change. By completing this session, our attendees are now better equipped to act as vital bridges between their communities and the support they may need.
