Celebrating Multicultural Festival – A Day of Unity and Anti-Racism Advocacy

On 31 of January 2026, Tawasul Foundation was proud to join in cohosting Multicultural Festival in Hume, the community for a vibrant festival that brought together over 1,500 attendees for an unforgettable celebration of harmony and cultural diversity. From the bright warmth of the afternoon until the evening lights, the venue was alive with the spirit of unity.
The festival was a true representation of community life. Attendees enjoyed a dynamic mix of live music, energetic performances, and cultural showcases, including a special appearance by the Sayat Nova Armenian group, whose contribution highlighted the beauty of our shared heritage. With local speakers, visiting politicians, engaging games, and a delicious array of international foods, there was truly something for everyone to enjoy.
Beyond the Celebration
While the laughter, music, and games created a wonderful atmosphere, our participation in this festival was rooted in our core mission: Strengthening Communities Against Racism. We believe that by fostering open, joyful, and inclusive spaces, we can build the resilience needed to challenge discrimination in all its forms.
Throughout the event, our team engaged with community members to promote our program initiatives. We utilised this unique opportunity to share our mission and discuss the importance of bystander empowerment and human rights awareness. By connecting with such a large and diverse audience, we reinforced our belief that constructive, face-to-face dialogue is the most powerful tool we have to build understanding and challenge prejudice.
We want to thank everyone who stopped by our information stand to learn more about our workshops, podcasts, and digital awareness campaigns. The conversations we had were a powerful reminder that our community is eager to champion equality and stand together against racism. Thank you to the supports and all the attendees who made this day a resounding success. Together, we are building a more inclusive Victoria, one conversation at a time.
